Posting Butterfly & Moth Photos on Flickr.com
Flickr.com is a social media website in which users can post their photographs online for private viewing, viewing limited to friends or for public veiwing.
It also has various newsgroups where you can meet other people with similar interests and post on various subjects.
If you have digital photos of butterflies or moths which you would like to share with branch members or the world in general, you can sign up for a free Flickr account and post your photos along with text saying where you took the photos
and any other info about the butterflies and site you want to add. If you make the access public so everyone can see, you can promote the branch website and the Butterfly Conservation website to encourage people to join. When you have created a page, if you then please
with the website address and then this can be posted on this page for other branch members to see. You could also post the website address on your Social Networking Profile if you are a member of a Social Networking website, or on your blog or on other people's blog if the content is relevant. These new features of the Internet can be used to promote Butterfly Conservation and increase its membership.
The link below shows some photos of Scotch Argus taken on 27 July at Bridge of Awe, Argyll and includes a description and links to both this branch website and the main Butterfly Conservation website.
