Thought I'd utilise the bank holiday afternoon looking for Small Blue at Gailes Nature Reserve, having had a good tramp round in the company of somebody else on the same mission and drawn a blank I returned to the car where Jim Black (VC75 Butterfly recorder) introduced himself and took me under his wing. As he was involved in the reintroduction he clearly new where to look and within an hour or so he'd found five or six including a mating pair, all perched fairly low down in long grass. To the chap I met 'we'd never have found them!!'

Sorry about the quality of the images but unlike moths you can't pose them.
Thanks again Jim.
