Went down to Mabie Forest today, and despite the showers had a successful day.
My first two Pearl Bordered Frits of the year at NX 93857061, and in the next 45 minutes had another two PBF at NX 92817025. Also 15 male and 6 female Orange Tips, 1 Large White, 4 Green Veined, 6 Peacock
Also went across to Kirkconnell Flow NNR, but it was pretty cloudy, and I only saw 4 green Veined, 5 male Orange Tips and 1 Small Tort

Hi Jim, I was at Mabie on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday and tried to walk my transects. Was defeated each time by heavy rain showers. Well done on the pearl borders, you must have been there earlier in the day when the sun was shining. Its been very frustrating locally this spring - hardly any sunny days. I have tried various sites for green hairstreak but the only one was at Drumstinchal Moss, near Dalbeattie.
