I finally saw my first two Dingy Skippers at the Littlemill Colliery site yesterday afternoon (16/05/14), actually I have been searching this area every day since 11/05/14 without success until yesterday, other butterflies seen in the Rankinston area this past week have been loads of Green-veined Whites and Orange Tips (which seem to be very numerous everywhere this year), a few Small Tortoiseshells, Peacocks and Small Whites, my first Small Heath on 14/05/14 and my first Large White on 11/05/14.

I will also try and visit some of the other Dingy Skipper sites during the next couple of weeks.

During the past couple of days numbers of Dingy Skippers at the Littlemill Colliery site have increased considerably, on monday afternoon I managed to find 12 butterflies before the weather suddenly dulled over leading to some very heavy showers that evening and hence I wasn't able to search the entire area that day, fortunately yesterday and today the weather was much better and I was able to do more complete searches and managed to find 16 and 30 butterflies respectively.
