Wester Moss Action day
Sunday 17th March 10am start. This is a follow-up to a successful day out at the lowland raised bog that is Wester Moss, by Fallin on 23rd February. We were felling trees to mark out an area of wet woodland that we are working with Butterfly Conservation to restore back to bog habitat. The contractors came in after us and felled the area. The larger logs are needing to be sucked into the bog to capture the carbon, and the brash from the tips of the branches are needing burned to get rid of them from site. We are planning to burn on metal sheets so we can remove the ash off on to Fallin Bing - so even if it is a chilly day, we will be cosy!!! You will need warm and waterproof clothing, and bring a packed lunch. Tea, juice, coffee and biscuits provided!

Butterfly Transect Training for Volunteers - Saturday 23rd March 2013 - 2.00pm - 4.00pm Those attending are asked to sign up for at least one of the hour-long surveys taking place between April and September.
